Welcome to Kingston Royals Swimming Club

Kingston Royals Swimming Club was founded over thirty years ago and since its formation has consistently been among the top performing clubs in Surrey. It provides swimming for varying ages and abilities from beginners to Olympic hopefuls. Originally formed through the amalgamation of Kingston Swimming Club and Surrey Ladies Swimming Club, today it is a thriving and vibrant club attracting swimmers aged five to eighty five.

The club's main competitive squads compete in inter-club, county, regional and national competition while swimfit squads provide options for those wishing to keep fit and enjoy swimming on a more recreational basis. For children learning to swim, the cadet programme offers lessons for beginners right up to those approaching competitive club standard. While the masters squad provides training and competition for more mature swimmers.

The club also has a thriving water polo squad. The KRSC coaching staff are all highly qualified and passionate about swimming. Head Coach, Paul Hurley, was a former national swimmer himself and Head of Cadets, Penny Webster, is a Masters European record-holder. Warm Weather Training

Apr
16

Welcome back to the 35 swimmers, 2 coaches and 4 chaperones who were on an Intensive Swim Camp, in Torremolinos from 7 - 14 April. The daily programme consisted of 2 x 2hr sessions in a  50m outdoor pool, followed by a land training session! With such an intensive programme, the swimmers learnt the value of good nutrition and staying hydrated, especially essential in the 30ºC+ heat ! Yes it was tough, but there was an equal amount of laughs, as swimmers competed outside the pool in teams for points.

Club Junior Gala - 25th April

Apr
16

We are holding a Club Junior Gala for the Development, Performance Junior, Competitive Junior and Competitive Junior Nationals squads on Friday 25th April at the Malden Centre.  This gala is being held in order to give our younger swimmers an opportunity to achieve some licensed times (the gala holds a Level 4 licence) which they can used to enter Open meets run by other clubs.  The events will include all the 50m events, 100m IM and the 200m Freestyle.  Swimmers are not expected to compete in all events but they should swim between 2 and 4.  They can select which events they want to compete when they sign in on the night.  Timings are as follows: Sign In will open at 6.00 and close at 6.30.  Warm Up starts at 6.30; the Gala will start at 7.00.  This is not a club championship gala but medals and ribbons can be won by those competing.  As the Malden Centre will be given over to the Gala on Friday night the Performance Junior Nationals, Nationals squads and Snr Performance squad are invited to train at Kingfisher between 6.00 and 8.00.  This will inevitably be a busy session so every swimmer will spend some time pool side doing land training.

Easter Timetable - revision

Apr
06
There have been some changes made to the Easter timetable:
  • the Friday, 11th session at MC is removed for SPS and Nationals
  • land training on Sunday, 13th is not happening both in the morning at Hampton and the evening at MC
These changes are due to a combination of lack of coaches and available pool space!

Surrey County Championships - Relay Results

Mar
31

The relay events held on the final weekend of the Surrey County Championships always provide plenty of excitement.  All our teams swam well with many of our younger swimmers competing for the first time in a major competition.  In total we won 4 silver and 2 bronze medals which is a huge improvement over last year, see table below for our medal winning teams.  With a total of 69 medals this year for the whole competition it has been our best haul since 2008 and really demonstrates the great improvement that has resulted from the restructuring that we implemented in the autumn of 2013. Well done to all those who competed.
