Welcome to Kingston Royals Swimming Club

Kingston Royals Swimming Club was formed over thirty years ago on the amalgamation of Kingston Swimming Club and Surrey Ladies Swimming Club and has consistently been among the top performing clubs in Surrey. It provides swimming for varying ages and abilities from beginners to Olympic hopefuls.

The main competitive squads compete in inter-club, county, regional and national competition while the senior squad and swimfit provide options for those wishing to keep fit and enjoy swimming on a more recreational basis. For children learning to swim, the cadet programme offers lessons for beginners right up to those approaching competitive club standard. While the masters squad provides training and competition for more mature swimmers.

The club also has a thriving water polo squad. The KRSC coaching staff are all highly qualified and passionate about swimming. Head Coach, Paul Hurley, was a former national swimmer himself and Head of Cadets, Penny Webster, is a Masters European Record-holder. Voting is now closed for the Jan-Jun 2013 Jack Petchey Achievement Awards.  The coaches have drawn up a shortlist of those swimmers they feel have demonstrated the quality of PERSEVERANCE above others in their squad.  Well done to those of you who have been nominated. Don't worry if your name isn't on the list this time as another award will be made in the Autumn which will recognise a different quality.   If you follow the code of conduct and keep training maybe your name will appear next time!

Open Water Swim

Damien Bryan - new KRSC coach - held the first of a series of Summer open water training sessions last Wednesday evening, 29th May, at Ferris Meadow Lake in Shepperton. The lake was a chilly 13.5 degrees but all our intrepid swimmers braved the cold waters and even had to dodge a duck with her chicks! The club are planning to use Damien's vast international open water experience to develop a programme of training sessions with a view to preparing a number of our swimmers for the upcoming open water season. So - watch this space!
