Cost

With the Club’s expenditure well in excess of £100,000 per annum, charges to members are structured to ensure that income is optimised in a fair and considered way.  Much thought and planning goes in to the fee structure and this takes place in a budget meeting of the Executive Committee in November of each year. The changes are announced in the Invitations for Membership Renewal sent out to members before Christmas and are effective from the start of the new financial year for the Club on 1st  January.

The Club hires its pool time from, currently five pool providers (two in-Borough and three out-of-Borough) and is under contract to them for up to 12 months.  KRSC does have a strong financial base - this is important for cash flow considerations as pool time is generally payable in advance of use.

The Club has the services of a full-time professional coach, a part-time qualified assistant coach and teachers who are paid according to experience and qualifications.  Pool time and coaching costs make up 90% of the Club’s total expenditure.  Administration costs account for less than 2% of expenditure.

Swimming fees are invoiced quarterly in advance.

Despite the seemingly high cost of swimming, there is an overwhelming belief that KRSC does represent good value for money.  This has been backed up by a number of surveys of members (both past and present) in the last few years.

The current year’s fees for the various Squads and Membership categories and printed on the following page.

If you do have any queries concerning any financial matter please see the Treasurer who is invariably at the Desk on each Friday (Club Night).

Grants and Sponsorship

The Club has been successful during the past few years in its annual Grant application to the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames for its contribution towards the cost of training the Borough Squad (Tuesday evening at Kingfisher) The Club also receives a further contribution towards the cost of personal development for everyone involved in the sport (and those wishing to become involved!)  The Club is grateful for the financial support it receives from the Royal Borough.

The Club does not currently have a sponsor and the Finance Committee would welcome an approach from a prospective sponsor.  With over 1,000 people involved in, or indirectly connected with, the Club and the regular press releases that are included in the local paper, KRSC represents an excellent opportunity for a local or national organisation interested in supporting a thriving club in such a worthwhile sport.

Please contact the Treasurer in the first instance.
