Regional & National Championships

COUNTY

The County Championships are held at Crystal Palace and the other events at Guildford and Aldershot during February and March each year. Ages given below are the swimmer's age as on the last day of the competition.

The Championships are in the following age groups: 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and over. This year there is also a Development Gala, for those swimmers not fast enough for the County Championships.

The entry times are posted on both notice boards as soon as they become available (usually the end of October), entries have to be submitted to the Open Meet Secretary before Christmas.

REGIONAL COMPETITIONS

The London Swimming ASA hold its summer championships in May/June  and its winter Championships at the end of November each year.. The format of the Championships is broadly in line with the County Championships and brings together swimmers of a higher calibre.  Only swimmers that have achieved the qualifying times can compete in these championships.  The times are advertised on both notice boards.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

This is the ultimate goal for KRSC swimmers.   The qualifying times are very tough and only the elite swimmers of England compete in these Championships.  Qualifying times can only be obtained at Licensed Meets - any of the above events or the very popular Open Meets (Section 6.5).  The Championships are held over a week at Ponds Forge, Sheffield each year  at the end of July, beginning of August.
