Day One - Monday 23rd July 2007
Four of
our swimmers competed on the first day - first to go was Sidney Howes, 12, at his first National Championships, competing in the
1500m Freestyle, Sidney finished 22nd in his age group. Next to swim
was James Young, 14, also in the 1500m Freestyle, where he finished
4th. Then it was Daniel Allpress, aged 11, at his first National
Championships - Daniel had 2 swims - first was the 200m Butterfly -
Daniel finished in 15th place. Also joining him was Vincent de Raucourt, 12, at his first National Championships - Vincent finished
in 7th place in the heats with a 3 second PB, and then went on to be
placed 6th in the finals. Daniel's second swim was the 100m
Breaststroke, he finished 9th in the heats with a 1 second PB,
Daniel then went on to the finals where he finished in 8th place,
with yet another PB.
Day Two - Tuesday 24th July 2007
Daniel Allpress - 6th in 400 IM, 28th in 200m
Freestyle; James Young - 12th in 400IM, 4th in 200m Freestyle,
3rd in 800m Freestyle;
Vincent de Raucourt - 5th in 200m Freestyle; James O'Hanlon, 12,
competing at his first National Championships - 17th in 100m
Backstroke; Boys 11/14
4 x 100 Medley Team - 21st.
Day Three - Wednesday 25th July 2007
Vincent de Raucourt - 3rd in 100m
Freestyle, 18th in 200 IM, James Young - 5th in 100m
Freestyle, 10th in 200IM; James O'Hanlon 24th in 200m
Backstroke; Daniel Allpress 11th in 200 IM, 28th in 100m
Freestyle; Boys 4 x 100 Freestyle Team - 8th
Day Four - Thursday 26th July 2007
Daniel Allpress 24th in 400m Free, 9th in 200m
Breaststroke; Vincent de Raucourt 14th in 400 Free, 13th in 100m
Fly; James Young 5th in 400 Free, 19th in 200m Breaststroke; Boys
11/14 4 x 200m Freestyle - 15th. Paige Kern, 100 Free, 24th.
National
Youth Championships 2007
27th - 31st July, 1st August, Ponds Forge, Sheffield
Report
Day One - Friday 27th July 2007
Day one saw all three of our youth qualifiers taking part - Alys
Thomas swam in the Women's Open 100m Free, finishing 86th in the
Open Category, Matthew Breckon swam in the 400 Free, finishing
3rd, and Alfie Howes also swam in the 400 Free, finishing
41st. Alys Thomas then had to withdraw from the rest of the
championships due to illness, so it was left to the boys to complete
their swims.
Day Two - Saturday 28th July 2007
Matthew Breckon took to the blocks again, competing in the Men's
Open 100m Free, and finished in 151st place.
Day Three - Sunday 29th July 2007
Matthew Breckon swam the 800 Free and finished in 11th Place in the
15/16yr age group, Alfie Howes finished in 29th Place in the 800
Free
Day Four - Monday 30th July 2007
Matthew Breckon came 103rd in the Men's Open 200 Free
Day Five - Tuesday 31st July 2007
Matthew Breckon came 159th in the Men's Open 50m
Free, 10th in the 15/16 1500 Free; Alfie Howes finished 26th
in the 1500 Free.
