Open Meet(ing)s are held throughout the year and are fully advertised in the
Swimming Times. The format will vary from Meet to Meet but they do tend to
attract individual swimmers of a high standard although some Meets are
specifically targeted towards those swimmers who have just missed the top flight
e.g. Barnet Novices Meet in October. Some Meets will accept swimmers on a
first come first served basis whilst others will grade purely for the fastest
entries. The Club co-ordinates entries for Open Meets. Please refer to the
Fixtures List and keep an eye on the notice boards for news on
Open meets.
Levels of Open
Meets
There
are 3 levels of Open Meets, 1, 2, 3 which are licensed by the
ASA.:
LEVEL 1 is aimed at National qualifiers,
or swimmers close to National qualification, looking for
opportunities to achieve National qualifying times. These meets
will have qualifying times for entry, which will be just below
the national times.
LEVEL 2 is aimed at Regional qualifiers
and will have qualifying and upper limit times.
LEVEL 3 is for Club swimmers who are
looking for County qualifying times and again has qualifying and
upper limit qualifying times. These meets provide a programme
for those swimmers below regional level.
