Surrey Age Group Championships 2007

 

Report for 10th and 11th February:

The first weekend of the Surrey Age Group Championships 2007 saw many of our swimmers competing. The weekend proved very successful, with innumerable PBs being broken . Our swimmers won a total of 52 medals - 25 Gold, 15 Silver and 12 Bronze and 4 Trophies - the Boys Senior 200m Breaststroke and 200IM Trophies were won by Sean Duffy, Matthew Breckon won the Boys Junior 200m Freestyle Trophy  - Matthew also set a new County Record in this event (the record had stood for 14 years), and Alys Thomas won the Girls Junior 200m Butterfly - Alys also set a new County Junior and Open Record in this event; 5 swimmers achieved 12 National Qualifying Times between them - they were Alys Thomas, Daniel Allpress, James Young, Matthew Breckon and Vincent De Raucourt. We look forward to the rest of the championships which continue on into March.
