Emmeline Eales delivered a strong and determined performance at the Scottish National Swimming Championships held in Aberdeen which ran from 10th-13th July.

Competing across a demanding schedule of events, the 12 year old showed her versatility and endurance while racing in the 12–13 age group against some of Scotland’s best young swimmers.

Having qualified for a total of eleven different events Emmeline elected to swim seven at the Meet, reaching the Final or Top 10 in five of them. She was particularly pleased to secure a silver medal in the 200m Backstroke and a bronze medal in the 100m Backstroke with a personal best time, whilst also achieving a personal best in the Final of the 200m Freestyle.

Throughout the competition Emmeline displayed outstanding determination, technical ability and race intelligence. Her performances, especially in the Finals, highlighted her competitive spirit and strong work ethic. To place in the top three in two major events — and consistently rank as the top 12 year old across multiple races — is a remarkable achievement at a national level, and comes on the back of winning her age group in the 2km event at the Scottish National Open Water Championships in June.

As she continues to train and gain experience, Emmeline is certainly one to watch in the coming seasons. Her performance in Aberdeen has not only set a high benchmark for herself but also inspired those around her in the swimming community.

Congratulations to Emmeline on a fantastic Meet!
